The turbine oil cooler serves as core auxiliary heat-exchange equipment for hydro-turbine units. During operation, friction and power loss generate significant heat in thrust bearings, guide bearings, and hydraulic governor systems, raising lubricating oil and hydraulic oil temperatures. The oil cooler efficiently transfers heat from high-temperature oil to cooling water, maintaining optimal operating oil temperature.
Insufficient cooling capacity or internal leakage can lead to excessive oil temperature, accelerating oil aging and deterioration, increasing bearing wear, causing hydraulic control malfunctions, and potentially triggering unit safety risks.
We provide tailor-made oil cooler solutions based on customer drawings, heat dissipation requirements, oil-water flow parameters, working pressure, installation space, and on-site cooling-water medium characteristics. Two mainstream structures are available:
Multi-tube shell-and-tube type offers proven reliability for conventional units, while finned-tube type provides compact layouts with enhanced heat-exchange area.
Tube bundles available in copper alloy, stainless steel, or copper-nickel alloy to handle poor-quality cooling water containing sediment, scale, or corrosive ions. Carbon-steel shells with anti-corrosion coating extend service life in humid environments.
Pull-out removable tube-bundle assembly enables heat-exchange core removal for cleaning sludge, scale, and sediment without cutting main oil-water pipelines, significantly reducing overhaul downtime.
Composite expanding-and-welding process for tube-to-tube-sheet joints. Every completed oil cooler undergoes strict hydraulic pressure leak testing to eliminate oil-water mixing risks.
Heat-exchange capacity, dimensions, pass number, flange standards, and interface positions can all be customized to match existing unit layouts for new-build or retrofit projects.
Please share your heat-load parameters, drawings, or working-condition requirements. We will prepare targeted technical proposals and quotations for you.
